In the movie Shawshank Redemption, the main character Andy Dufresne, spent 20 years in prison dreaming of escaping and making his way south to spend the rest of his days in Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico. Andy finallly escapes and heads south to Zihua to live out his dream. In the last scene, we see Andy's friend, Red, find Andy on a deserted beach working on his boat.
This year, after not returning for almost 10 years, we are privileged once again to be partnering with the Baptist churches of this city to do Bible Schools and evangelistic work at some of their mission points. This is a beautiful place with beautiful people..... but like most areas in Mexico, there is very little evangelical presence. And like Andy, we're anxious to be there ! We leave on Friday morning, Oct 15...... keep us in your prayers....
